Participating Employer Application

Part I: Important Notes

In order to expand the talent pool and attract new entrants to the asset and wealth management (“WAM”) sector, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) Government has launched the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector (“WAM Pilot Programme”) since 2016. Student Internship Programme (“SIP”) is one of the key initiatives to raise the awareness of full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students to the wide spectrum of career opportunities in the WAM sector and allow them to gain early exposure to different functional roles. The Hong Kong Securities and Investment (“HKSI”) Institute is appointed as the implementation agent.

To submit an application for enrolment of Participating Employer (“PE”) under the SIP, the applicant is required to read the notes and instructions below carefully:

  1. Read the latest Guide for Participating Employers (which can be downloaded from WAM Pilot Programme's website) carefully before start.
  2. Google Chrome and Firefox are recommended browsers for filling out this online application.
  3. Complete ALL parts of the application form and upload supporting documents (where required) as proof for fulfilling the eligibility requirements. For group companies, supporting documents indicating the relationships between the fellow subsidiary(ies) and the parent group are required.
  4. Complete the online application within 30 minutes after starting the procedure; otherwise, the system will automatically logout without saving the data you have input.
  5. A confirmation email will be sent by the system to the applicant’s contact email address after successful submission.
  6. By completing and submitting this application form, an applicant agrees that a contract is constituted between the HKSAR Government and the applicant on the terms set out in the application form.  Failure to comply with the terms of the application form would amount to a breach of contract.  This application form shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong.
  7. HKSI Institute may contact the applicant to follow up and require for additional information in processing the application.
  8. The application will be reviewed by the Vetting Committee (“VC”), comprising members from the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (“FSTB”) of the HKSAR Government and the HKSI Institute. Applicant will be informed of the result by email.
  9. Subsidy claim shall be submitted within 60 days after the completion of each internship position offered under SIP. An applicant will be required to confirm that the information provided in the subsidy claim form and all the supporting documents for the respective intern(s) are true and correct, as well as declare that the applicant has not received and will not apply for any form of subsidy from any other funding schemes in respect of the honorarium paid to the intern(s). The HKSAR Government and/or the HKSI Institute reserves the right to reject the subsidy claim, terminate all or any part of the funding support, and claw back any funding disbursed to the applicant in case of non-compliance.
  10. Contact WAM Implementation Team via internship@wamtalent.org.hk for any enquiries or assistance.
